The Open Laboratory: How Science Unlocks the Secrets of Museum Objects
Open Laboratory Detail
Within the KulturGUTerhalten exhibition, the Rathgen Research Laboratory operates an Open Laboratory where the making of conservation science can be experienced by museum visitors. The Open Laboratory is an unique opportunity to see what conservation science is today. It also invites visitors to engage in a dialogue with conservators and scientists.
Visitors will learn about the value of the past and three main questions will conduct visitors into the world of conservation science, namely:
- Why do we need to know more about cultural heritage?
- What visitors can bring into a Museum?
- How cultural heritage integrity can be kept?
